Who We Are

Rooted in Compassion. Inspired by Faith. Committed to Excellence.

Founded in 2019 by Dr. Cynthia Libert, Caring for the Body was born from a conviction that healthcare could be more personal, more compassionate, and more effective.

After years of practicing conventional family medicine, Dr. Libert envisioned a different approach to healing: one that looks beyond symptoms to understand the whole person, addresses the underlying causes of illness, and restores hope to individuals seeking answers.

Guided by her Christian faith, a commitment to scientific excellence, and the timeless wisdom of the Golden Rule, she established Caring for the Body as a sanctuary of healing and hope.

Today, our Asheville-based practice brings together a multidisciplinary team united by a common mission: helping people flourish in body, mind, and spirit.

What We Do

Reimagining Healthcare Through Personalized, Whole-Person Medicine

We specialize in functional and precision medicine, helping individuals address the root causes of chronic illness, optimize brain health, and extend their healthspan.

Our approach combines advanced medical science, innovative diagnostics, personalized treatment strategies, lifestyle medicine, and compassionate coaching.

Through our membership-based model of care, we have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with patients, understand their unique stories, and walk alongside them toward better health.

We also extend our mission beyond the examination room through education, community, and our Re-Think Aging initiatives.

Every member of our team plays a vital role in this work, from clinical care and coaching to patient coordination and administrative support.

Why We Do It

Because Every Life Is Precious, and Every Person Deserves to Flourish

We believe that health is more than the absence of disease. It is the opportunity to live with vitality, purpose, resilience, and joy.

Many of our patients come to us feeling discouraged, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their health. We have the privilege of offering something profoundly meaningful: a compassionate listening ear, a thoughtful plan, and renewed hope.

We believe that every person has a unique story and deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and respect.

Our role is to listen deeply, seek understanding, and partner with our patients to uncover the underlying causes of their health challenges. Through personalized care, education, and encouragement, we help them move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and hope.

This is more than the practice of medicine.

It is a calling to serve, a commitment to excellence, and an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Who We Are Becoming

Growing Together in Excellence, Compassion, and Purpose

We believe building an exceptional healthcare practice begins with cultivating an exceptional team. We are intentional about who we are becoming, individually and together, and we seek team members who embrace three guiding principles.

Our goal is to become better together, for the benefit of every person we serve.

Life at Caring for the Body

A Place to Contribute, Connect, and Grow

We believe that the people who care for others also deserve to be cared for. Healthcare is meaningful work, but it can also be demanding. That's why we are committed to cultivating a workplace characterized by mutual respect, healthy communication, teamwork, and encouragement.

We value excellence without losing our humanity, professionalism without sacrificing warmth, and hard work balanced with opportunities for joy and connection. We want our team members to feel that their work matters, their voices are heard, and their unique gifts contribute to something greater than themselves.

Our aspiration is simple

To create a culture where our team members flourish, so that together, we can help our patients flourish, too.

A Message from Our Founder

“When I founded Caring for the Body, I dreamed of creating something more than a medical practice. I envisioned a place where patients could experience genuine healing and hope, and where talented, compassionate professionals could find meaningful work, grow in their gifts, and experience the joy of serving others.

That vision continues to guide us today. I believe that the work we do matters deeply, and that the way we care for one another is just as important as the care we provide to our patients.

My hope is that Caring for the Body will always be a place where people feel valued, inspired, and grateful to be part of something meaningful.”
